XPT

CountryLink's fleet of XPT express trains and connecting coaches operate regular services to over 360 destinations throughout New South Wales and beyond. Between Sydney and Brisbane and Sydney and Melbourne there are twice daily services, either daylight or overnight, providing a fast, efficient and cost effective means of travelling between three of Australia's most iconic cities.

Or if you are wishing to visit the breathtaking coastline of northern New South Wales and southern Queensland, there are routes and connections to most of the popular destinations including Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Nambucca Heads, Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay and many many more. There are also XPT services inland to such destinations as Orange, Bathurst and Parkes, or through the Blue Mountains to Dubbo or into the Outback as far west as the historic mining town of Broken Hill.

Sun-kissed beaches, fertile countryside, mighty mountains and towering rainforests are all accessible on the CountryLink network.

XPT trains all include a Buffet Car which serves affordable takeaway snacks, hot and cold meals, light beer, wine and beverages. Passengers with special dietary requirements can make a request when reserving their journey.

The XPT offers three levels of service:

On the daylight services there are:

Economy Seats each featuring an individual reading light, fold-down table, armrest, ample legroom and footrest.

First Class Seats which are slightly more spacious for extra comfort and feature an individual reading light, fold-down table, armrest, even more ample legroom and footrest.

All seats face the direction of travel but, with notice, can be rotated to form a group of four if required.

The overnight trains also include Economy and First Class Seating but additionally offer.

First Class Twin Sleepers with comfortable bunk beds converting to First Class Seats during the day. Bed linen, towels, toiletries and complimentary light breakfast are included in the fare and a shower and toilet is shared between every two cabins (maximum four people).
