Essential Information about New Zealand Travelpasses
- It is your responsibility to ensure that all necessary travel documents (e.g. passports, visas etc.) are valid and effective.
- It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure that they comply with all visa and health requirements
- If your pass gets lost or stolen, it cannot be re-issued or refunded. A refund may only be obtained if the pass is returned before the first date of validity
Child Fares
Special fares are available for infants and children up to 11 years of age inclusive.
- Infant (0-1 years): free of charge (carried on adult's lap - one infant per adult)
- Child (2-11 years): 67% of the adult fare
- Adult (12 years and over): adult fare
Travelpass Validity
- Travelpass-by-the-Month: These passes are valid for 1, 2 or 3 months from the first day of travel.
- 2-in-One and 3-in-One: These passes are valid for 12 months from the first day of travel
Refunds and Ticket/Pass Changes
There is no refund on partially used, lost or stolen Passes. We strongly recommend that your travel insurance protects you against loss or theft of your rail pass. If the Pass is returned for cancellation or alteration before the first date of travel listed on the Pass, then we have a standard 15% cancellation/alteration fee in addition to an administrative charge per ticket, in all cases. Additional fees may apply. Cancellations and alterations can only be made when we receive the pass/ticket prior to the first date of travel. Duplicate or replacement passes/tickets cannot be issued under any conditions.
